Abstract

Faced with ongoing deforestation and forest degradation, major political, institutional and technological upheavals are taking place. As a result, a growing number of communities and organisations committed to forest conservation are giving rise to real hope for change, where science and increasingly sophisticated technology could facilitate a forest management approach that is still in its infancy.
