Abstract

The performances in terms of egg production and feed efficiency of the Mandarah breed (Egyptian origin) were compared with hens in individual cages at 2 constant temperatures (21°C and 31°C) from the onset of laying to the age of 47 weeks. The Mandarah appears to be moderately affected by heat for various traits (-10 and -6 % respectively for egg mass and mean egg weight).
