Abstract

Two batches of 500 broilers each were given two different finishing diets, one without brewers’ grains, the other with a 30 % dried brewer’s grain diet during 70 days. In terms of weight gain, there was no significant difference between the two batches, but the interest of the trial was the replacement of maize used in human nutrition by a cheap and easily transportable by-product, i.e. dried brewers’ grains. Furthermore, experimental broilers were more appreciated than the controls by the tasting panel.
