Abstract

For a general view of the most frequent infectious diseases in the extensive poultry production in Togo, a serological survey was carried out in the district of Agou. Emphasis was placed on the detection of antibodies against Newcastle disease and Salmonella gallinarum-pullorum. Of 241 chickens from five different villages, 137 (57 %) had positive antibodies titres for Newcastle disease and 9 (3,7 %) for S. gallinarum-pullorum.
