Abstract

In the islands of Wallis and Futuna, French Overseas territory situated in South Pacific Ocean, a veterinary assistance has been developed by IEMVT since 1980. After a general description of the territory, the main domestic species (pigs, poultry, cows and horses) and the stockfarming methods are described. The parasitism and the infectious diseases, which predominate in the local pathology, are exposed. At last, the authors discuss the various possibilities of stock-farming improvement in the islands of Wallis and Futuna.
