Abstract

The reproductive and production yield data of 257 European HolsteinFriesian cows imported to Egypt were studied for a period of five years at a station of breeding of cattle in Alexandria. The totality of 826 lactations were analysed. The average age at first calving is 25,0 ± 0,15 months. The average calving-fecundation interval is 98,5 ± 1,1 days and the average calving interval is 381,9 ± 1,4 days. The duration of lactation average is 299,6 ± 1,1 days. The average quantity of yield milk during 305’ days is 4 571 ± 48 kg. The dry period average is 61,7 ± 0,4 days. The fat rate average is 3,49 ± 0,1 p. 100. The average of fat yield is 153,5 ± 1,7 kg and the azote rate average is 3,34 ± 0,1 %. The given results used to be the bases of a selection for a sensibly increasing of herd performances.
