Some preliminary results from laboratory diagnosis and from surveys give the following information: coccidiosis plays an important role in the gastro-intestinal parasitism of small ruminants, youngs and adults; toxoplasmosis and Q fever take place in abortions and born dead; if goat dermatophilosis induces only localized lesions in Guadeloupe, sheep dermatophilosis induces extensive and fatal disease in Martinique. Blue tongue exists in Guadeloupe but its impact is not known, nor the impact of anaplasmosis. On the other hand, trypanosomiasis disappeared from Guadeloupe and Martinique.
