Abstract

This study was conducted on 9 Baoule bulls. A strong pathological incidence during humid season pertubs the set of spermatie characte ristics which, in healthy animals, are as follows: volume = 2.4 ± 1.5 ml;  motility = 3.8 ±  0.8; numeration = 1.05 ±  0.40 106/mm3 ; PSI=  80 ±  23 per cent; major abnormalities = 3.8 ±  4.7  per cent. There are a positive correlation between hygrometry and the major abnormalities of the head and the minor ones of the head and the tail (P < 0.01) and a positive correlation between maximum temperature and the major abnormalities of the middle piece and the tail. The other spermatie characteristics do not show seasonal variations.
