Abstract

The olfactory attractive difference between Zebu and Baoule for tsetse flies has been studied to know whether it could be a factor of trypanotolerance. If Baoule urine has been more attractive than Zebu’s one, the result is opposite with global odour when identical weights of animals are used. The low difference observed (25 %) does not allow to conclude about the importance of this factor in trypanosomiasis epidemiology.
