Presence of Theileria velifera in Senegal

The authors indicate for the first time the existence of Theileria velifera in Senegal. This hemoparasite is known in Guadeloupe where it is supposed to have heen introduced at the same time as Cowdria ruminantium Cowdry, 1926 and TheiJeria mutans Theiler, 1906, by Senegalese zebus. The description of these protozoa in Senegal confirms epidemiological relationships which existed between this country and the French West Indies.
