This 2023-2024 thematic collection takes advantage of the United Nations' International Year of the Camelids to highlight the global impact and essential role of camelids in diverse ecosystems, particularly in desert and mountain regions, where they are central to the livelihoods and traditional practices of indigenous communities (FAO, 2022).
