Application of a precipitinogen inhibition test in the detection of antibody to peste des petits ruminants virus

Abstract

Antibody to the virus of peste des petits ruminants was detected in convalescent goat sera by means of a precipitinogen Inhibition Test. There was a 70 p. 100 correlation between results obtained with thii test and those obtained with the serum neutralisation test. The precipitinogen inhibition test cari be valuable in the screening of sera for antibodies to peste des petits ruminants in laboratories lacking facilities for performing serum neutralisation test.
