Abstract

Grazing behaviour of zebu Brahman has been studied in French Guiana during nine successive passages on a parcel included in a rotating pasture system. Along 24 hours, the animais graze during about 4 h 30, and preferably by day, taking a long time of rest at midday. During the stay on the parcel, the different activities of the herd keep the same relative importance even if their distribution along
the day progressively changes ; the disunion of the herd and the homogeneization of pastured areas have been also observed.
