Abstract

In Senegal, under natural conditions, the contagious pustular dermatitis (CPD) virus may remain active in infected flocks during very long periods. Evidence of this assertion is given by serological surveys, isolation and identification of the virus observed in two local outbreaks. As one component among others, CPD must be suspected in small ruminant respiratory diseases.
