Definitions

Scopus : transdisciplinary database developed by scientific publisher Elsevier (2004).

CiteScore : CiteScore counts citations received in the previous four years for articles, journals, conference papers, book chapters and data documents published in the previous four years, and divides this figure by the number of publications published in the previous four years.

SJR : SCImago Journal Rank (SRG S.L. company) was developed by El Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), University of Granada, Extremadura, Carlos III (Madrid). This index measures the scientific influence of an academic journal, taking into account the number of citations obtained by the journal and the importance of the journals from which these citations originate. The index is calculated using continuous data in the Scopus database (Elsevier). The index is derived from the Google PageRank algorithm.

SNIP : Source Normalized Impact per Paper was designed by Henk Moed. This index measures the impact of contextual citations by weighting citations according to the total number of citations in a field, using data contained in the Scopus database (Elsevier).

H index : The h-index was designed by Jorge Hirsch (2005) to qualify the scientific productivity and impact of a scientist according to the citation level of his or her publications, here the index is applied to the scientific journal. The h-index of a publication is the highest number h such that at least h articles from this publication have been cited at least h times each. For example, a journal with an h-index of 20 has published 20 articles that have been cited 20 times or more.
