Abstract

A strain of Trypanosoma (Duttonella) vivax isolated in the Niayes region of Senegal was successfully transmitted to laboratory mice (Balb/c). Parasitemia was monitored in one mouse at first appearance for more than 100 days. This observation confirmed that T. vivax may be spontaneously transmissible to rodents.
