Abstract

The author tries to determine the existence of Moraxella bovis infectious keratoconjunctivitis in Senegalese bulls. The study hasbeen done in dry season, then in rainy season. Samples have been taken only from animals with keratoconjunctivitis or intense lacrimation with photophobia. Clinical observation reveals a multiform symptomatology, affecting 3.7 p. 100 of animals during dry season and 2.27 p. 100 in rainy season. Bacteriological analysis does not show Moraxella bovis at any time; however, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus hasbeen revealed in 8.9 p. 100 of the clinical cases in dry season and 1.10 p. 100 in rainy season ; the germ does not show an experimental pathogenic power and would simply be saprophyte.
