Abstract

Comparison between the Zebu and Baoule urines has shown the superiority of Baoule urine as olfactory attractant for Glossina tachinoides. The chemical splitting of this urine was realized and the different fractions were tested and compared with an unfractionated urine and a control sample. This experiment showed all fractions as attractant, but the unfractionated urine was better. The phenolic fraction gave the nearest result to these obtained with unfractionated urine.
