Bergers et troupeaux dans le Parc des Écrins

Résumé

The paper concerns the future of farming in protected areas. What management models would be best, or even possible, for alpine pastures that happen to be located in a natural park? As concerns the real-life case of the Saut du Laire in the Parc des Écrins, two contrasting management models - one, called ecological, the other, economic -, are discussed amongst the various parties concerned: the shepherd, the former, the municipality and the Park.
